Peder Moos (b. Nybøl 1906, d. Bredebro, Tønder 1991)

A unique and amazing ladys solid bubinga wood writing desk. Half moon shaped top and front with two drawers. Numerous visible joints of lemon wood and box wood. Front with central locking system for two drawers. Drawers with hand carved handles. Tapering drumstick legs. Table top with carved raised edge and inlaid monogram . Bottom signed Moos 1953–1954. Special order made and designed by cabinetmaker Peder Moos. H. 70 cm. W. 103 cm. D. 64 cm.

Literature: “Peder Moos”. Teknologisk Instituts Forlag, 1988 Ill. pp. 30–31. Exhibited :Sønderborg kunstmuseum 1985. This stunning table was commisioned by current owners mother in 1953. It is arguably among the most interesting pieces of furniture made by Peder Moos, since this table unites perfect delicate craftmanship, love of wood, and a highly personal aesthetic in a yet functional piece of furniture. Peder Moos is at his strongest when the tension between artistry and function remain intact.
