KPM Berlin porcelain bowl, decorated in colours and gold, centre with the queen of the night encircled by roses, iris among others. Matt and shiny gold rim, decorated with leaves and fruits. Germany, c. 1818–1819. Diam. 42 cm.

Originally fruit bowl from centrepiece from the Herzog von Wellington service, which was produced 1818–1819. Herzog von Wellington (1769–1852) was conqueror in various battles in the Napoleonic wars. Literature: Similar decoration illustrated in Raffinesse & Eleganz, 2007. P. 61 and 84.
