Finn Juhl (b. Frederiksberg 1912, d. Ordrup 1989)

“Chieftain Chair”. A teak easy chair. Seat, armrests and back upholstered with original black leather, back fitted with buttons. Designed 1949. This example made approx. 1960s by cabinetmaker Niels Vodder, stamped by maker.

Provenance: The estate of Eyvind Bartels, hence by descent in the family. Bartels became a Danish ambassador at OEEC in 1957 and from 1960 also in Paris. He ended his career abroad as ambassador in Washington DC from 1971–1975.
