A fine Danish iron mounted half stocked percussion rifle by Carl Heinrich Delcomyn c. 1850. The back action lock with set trigger laid flush to the stock and marked DELCOMYN KIØBENHAVN and held by a single screw. Butt plate, trigger guard, lock and hammer engraved with foliate. The c. 80 cm. long octagonal barrel is c. 80 cm. long in calibre c. 14 mm. rifled with 8 grooves. The barrel is held by a single pin and beneath it a brass tipped steel ramrod held by three ramrod pipes.

Carl Heinrich Delcomyn 1800–1864 was one of the best Danish gunmakers of his time with a large civilian production.

Condition

The wood with signs of usage. A small crack in front of the lock. The social security number of a former owner engraved on the right hand side of the barrel.
