A finely carved Norwegian powder horn by Sven Nielssøn dated 1706 c 16 cm in height with the entire surface covered with carvings and text. The motifs are from the bible and from tales of heros like Rollo and Holger Danske. The bottom is in wood with a wooden screw. Along the rim the inscription SVEN NIELSSØN EGEN HAND? ANKELOLS. The other inscriptions are: ADAM BONDE EFVA HVSTR ROLLANFERAKON DREFTE DRAGEN OLLA STRANGESSØ?N HAABAAR KONGENSØN DAVED DALILA SAMSON DANIEL SOLDANB OLGER DAN.
