Sketch for the large sculpture that is placed in a rectangular fountain at City Hall in Aarhus. Bjerg began work on the sculpture in 1937 and finished it in 1940. The plan was to have it placed at the city’s swim hall, but instead it was placed in the square south of the newly built City Hall at Park Allé, where it was revealed to the public on 1 July 1941. It was a gift to the city of Aarhus from the Carlsberg Foundation and Aarhus Belysningsvæsen (the city’s lighting administration).
