The Swedish-American artist and illustrator Gustaf Tenggren worked as chief illustrator for the Walt Disney Company in the late 30s, where classics such as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Fantasia,” “Bambi” and “Pinocchio” was produced.
“The brave little tailor” derives from “The Grimm's Fairy Tales,” which was released in 1929 by Jespersen and Pios publishers with illustration by Gustaf Tenggren.
Provenance: When Jespersen and Pio was sold in the 70s, the drawing were given to the present owner as a gift.
Signs of age/paper has turned yellow. Examined in frame.
