A 19th century Quran wooden stand with traces of paint.

Provenance: Archeologist Peder Mortensen b. 1934 Director of the Moesgaard Museum from 1982–1996 Director for the Danish Institute in Damascus and cultural advisor to the Danish embassy in Damascus 1996–2001 Honorary professor in Middle Eastern studies at University of Copenhagen. Bought in Bahrein 1957–58.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Missing paint. A few countries outside the EU (third countries) ban import of Iranian/Persian items.. This lot number might be covered by such provision and potential buyers are advised to familiarize themselves with these rules.
