Dankvart Dreyer (b. Assens 1816, d. Barløse 1852)
Landscape north of Assens with a view towards Emtekær Nor (cove) and Wedelsborg peninsula. Unsigned. Oil on panel. 16×23.5 cm.
Provenance: The architect, professor at the School of Architecture (Kunstakademiets Arkitekturskole) Steen Eiler Rasmussen.
The dark stacks to the left of the painting is turf or bricks. There was once a brickyard there. The long dark line in the foreground is not a stone wall, but something which has been spread out on the ground to dry, presumably tuf. The bricks were dried in the white building and the tuf dried on the soil.
