Sterling silver memory plaque from the Russian cruiser »Variag«. Front engraved with the warship and Russian text: “Cruiser of the First rank »Variag«, launched 10/22 of May 1899 in Philadelphia at the ship buillding yard W. Kramp and Co.” Reverse with engraved participating names of the event. Marked Sterling Bailey-Banks & Riddle Co. Philadelphia. Weight c. 176 gr. H. 9.8 cm. L. 12.4 cm. Original box included. (2).

»Variag« was a Russian war ship, which became famous at the Battle of Chemulpo Bay, a naval battle in the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905).
