The Danish photographer Hans Manner-Jacobsen’s photographs are strongly influenced by classical American photography. He lived six years in the US, specializing in large-format Landscapes. His series “Gilbjerg Hoved” depicts the relatively remote and untouched cliff and seascape that was known as 19th century philosopher Søren Kierkegaard's favourite place and source of contemplation. An optical distortion is obtained by moving the lens and film planes of the view camera on a perpendicular axis.
