Russian silver-gilt and nielloed coffee and tea set, gilt interior, comprising coffe pot with lid, tea pot with lid, sugar bowl with lid, creamer and cake bowl, decorated with flowers, foliage and views from Moscow in cartouches. Coffee pot, tea pot and sugar bowl: Andrej Mikhailovich Postnikov, marked with the Imperial Warrant as purveyor to the Imperial Russian Court, Cyrillic assay mark VP 1883, Moscow town mark, 84 standard. Creamer: M. F. Sokolov, assayer Lev Oleks 1894, Moscow town mark, 84 standard. Cake bowl: Vasili S. Semenov, assayer Anatoli Artsibashov 1891, Moscow town mark, 84 standard. Total weight c. 2,483 gr. H. from 6.2 to 17 cm. W. from 20 to 22 cm. (5).

Provenance: Seller's uncle, Thorkild A. B. Eliasen, who worked for the Great Nordic Telegraph Company in Russia before and after the Russian revolution.
