Patinated bronze Medicine Buddha, seated in dhyanasana on double lotus throne, hair with spiky curls and ushnisha, garment with richly decorated flower border, right arm stretched forward with hand holding a myrobalan fruit, left hand resting on lap with bowl of myrobalan fruits. Kangxi 1662–1722. Weight 5800 gr. H. 37 cm.
Provenance: From the estate of actress Clara Pontoppidan, 1883–1975. The photograph shows the figure exposed in the large banqueting hall in the home of Clara Pontoppidan.
