A salt glaze stoneware tankard with a Danish Regence silver lid inlaid with a coin, engraved with owner's initiales and year, 1724, thumb piece in shape of acanthus. Maker Jens Christensen, trade licence 1721. Early 18th centruy. H. 14 cm.

Provenance: ABR auction no. 277, 1972, lot no. 1055.

Condition

Long crack running from the handle and down. Firing fault at the inside.
