A very scarce catalogue of the collection of George Eumorfopoulos - regarded as one of the finest collections in the 20th century. R.L. Hobson wrote this 11-volume catalogue on George Eumorfopoulos' collections, simply entitled 'The George Eumorfopoulos Collection'.

George Eumorfopoulos (1863–1939) was a distinguished collector of European and Oriental porcelain with a particular interest in Chinese ceramics and he formed two collections of Chinese Antiquities. He started collecting in 1891, initially European and Japanese art, but soon focussed on Qing porcelain and then Han, Tang and Song ceramics. His extensive collection was added to with bronzes, jades, sculpture, painting, metal work, lacquer and glass; later Korean and Near Eastern material was also included.

Eumorfopoulos turned a part of his house on Chelsea Embankment into a private museum to display these works of art, which attracted many visitors. In 1934 he sold his collection to the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Eumorfopoulos was a member of the V&A's Advisory Council from 1925 to 1935, and was a founder of the Oriental Ceramic Society and its first president from 1921 until his death.
