Russian icon depicting Christ Pantokrator fitted with pierced ritza and silver-gilt halo, mounted in kiot. Reverse with engraving in memory of the Russo-Turkish War 1877–1878. The 1st Artel, Moscow 1908–1917, 84 standard. Icon 28.8×35.6 cm. Kiot 33×44.5 cm.

Engraving on the reverse says in Cyrillic: “In the memory of the military operation in Turkey 1877–1878”. The Russo-Turkish War 1877–1878 was a conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Eastern Orthodox coalition led by the Russian Empire and composed of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Montenegro.
