Gilt bronze Sukhothai style Siam Buddha with downcast eyes, seated in dhyanasana on triangular base, hands in the bhumisparsha mudra, dressed in simple robes. Thailand, 17th-18th century. Weight 27,3 kg. H. 64 cm.

Provenance: Acquired in 1862–63 during a trip to the Far East by Eggert Christopher Knuth of Knuthenborg, 1838–1874. Henceforth passed to descendants.
