Provenance: Seller's stepfather, Christian Boisen, who was an international businessman and often traveled in Europe between World War I and II. According to the seller's information, he was visiting Berlin in the 1920s, where he met a Russian nobleman, who had fled Russia during the revolution in 1917. He would sell his vodka service and Boisen would like to buy it. However, the sale was only executed when Boisen had promised to cover the Russian's name or crest on the tray. Therefore, a silver piece was subsequently put on - with Christian Boisen's name engraved.
