Ejner Larsen & Aksel Bender Madsen (, b. 1917, d. 1987, b. 1916, d. 2000)
“Metropolitan”. A mahogany armchair, seat and back with slight patinated natural leather. Designed 1959. Made by Søren Horns Eftf. snedkermester Niels Roth Andersen.
The first version of “The Metropolitan chair” was shown at the Cabinetmaker's Guild Exhibition in 1949 by cabinetmaker Ludvig Pontoppidan. The chair came in a simplified variation in industrial production by Fritz Hansen from 1952 to app. 1958. At the Cabinetmaker's Guild Exhibition in 1959, presented cabinetmaker Willy Beck a more luxus variation covered with leather on armrests and seat.
