Portrait of the Danish brewer and patron of art I. C. Jacobsen. Signed and dated O. G. 1877 and with a dedication on the reverse: “J. C. Jacobsen 24/12 77 til (to) Carl Bloch”. Relief carved in ivory. Oval. 12×10 cm.
Provenance: J. C. Jacobsen, Danish Brewer and Patron of Art, gave the relief to the Danish Painter Carl Bloch. This happened about the same time as I. C. Jacobsen commissioned 23 small paintings for Frederiksborg Slotskirke (Frederiksborg Palace Church).
