The original title of the work was “La Goulue” and refers to the Can-Can dancer Louise Weber, also knowns as “The Queen of Montmartre”. Her nick-name “La Goulue” (The Greedy) was caused by her remarkable ability to consume drinks during her performances at the Moulin Rouge - drinks intended for the guests that is!
Condition: Three horizontal creases. Slightly wrinkled.
