Constantin Hansen (b. Rome 1804, d. Frederiksberg 1880)

Two putti. Studies for wall decorations in timber merchant Christian Ludvig Maag's drawing room in Ny Vestergade 13 in København One putto holding a chandelier the other a book. Signed Const. Hansen Maags Dagligstue. Drawing ink and pencil on paper. Sheet size 50×35 cm. (2).

Carpenter Maag let several of the Golden Age painters decorate his home, besides Constantin Hansen, among others Georg Hilker and P. C. Skovgaard.

Provenance: The painter Hjalmar Matthiessen's collection of drawings.
