A Chinese four wing hardwood screen, carved with openwork ornaments. First half of the 20th century. H. 125 cm. L. 220 cm.

Provenance: Carl Alfred Jensen, 1886–1953. CAJ was engineer at Northern Telegraph Company and was posted in China 1911–1927, where he lived with his wife and two daughters. The family stayed at various places in China, but were mainly living in Tiensien. The figure has been in the family ever since.

Condition

Wear. Marks and scratches. Comes with chips and restorations.
