A Moroccan tribal wool rug from the Beni Ouarain tribe, embellished with herringbone pattern on an ivory base. 20th century. 227×137 cm.
Beni Ouarain is a tribe who takes a trip through the Rifs mountains from end March to start October. The tribe uses wool from Olit Izmem sheep and it takes several months to weave the carpets. The process is for the Beni Ouarain people very spiritual.
