Johan Frederik Møller (b. Elsinore 1797, d. Copenhagen 1871)

A pair of portraits of merchant Peter Saabye (1784–1859) and his wife Augusta Saabye (1789–1850), née Lauerwald, ballet dancer at Det Kongelige Teater (The Royal Danish Theatre). She is holding sheets of music, he is holding a letter with a red wax seal. He signed and dated I. F. Møller 1829. Oil on canvas. 47×32 cm each. Period Damborg frames with labels. (2).

The couple was married in 1810, whereupon she retired from the stage. As a ballet dancer she was known for her talent and beauty.

On the wall two engravings depicting: “The Battle of Bunker Hill near Boston” and “ The Death of General Warren” - scenes from the American War of Independence (1775–1783).
