Hans Christian Jensen (b. Copenhagen 1836, d. s.p. 1903)

A pair of portraits of the married couple A. M. Hirschsprung and his wife, Petrea Hirschsprung née Hertz. Signed H. Christian Jensen, one dated 1876. Oil on canvas. 64×52 cm each (2).

A. M. Hirschsprung came from Hamburg and established a tobacco factory in Copenhagen 1826. The company was later taken over by his sons and in 1972 it was sold to Scandinavian Tobacco Company.

Condition

Minimal crackles. The canvas is relined. One retouch.
