Olga Alexandrovna (b. Peterhof Palace 1882, d. Toronto 1960, Grand Duchess of Russia)

The artist's son, two years old Tihon Kulikovsky outside the house in Novo-Minskaya. 1919. Signed Olga. Inscribed in Danish on the reverse “Novominskaia. 1919. Tihon Kulikovsky (2 aar)”. Gouache and watercolour on paper laid on cardboard. Visible size 22×27 cm.

When the Tsar family were executed in 1918, Olga fled with her family from the Crimea to the Cossack village of Novo-Minskaya. Here they rented a small house, where they lived until they in 1920 had to flee to Denmark.

Tihon Kulikovsky (1917–1993) was Grand Duchess Olga's eldest son.
