This model is one of the most interesting and sculptural pieces of furniture designed by Børge Mogensen. The dramatic veneer combined with its irregular shape, and the low silhouette makes it stand out as a fine example of the ideals behind post-war Nordic design. Børge Mogensen here intended to make a table that could be used both as a worktable, a dining table as well as function as a high occasional table, while at the same time bringing inside the forces of nature through the use of the dramatic Wawona veneer.
