Tall black hat with Russian text “coachman no. three”, which ealier belonged to Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna of Russia. Marked in Danish “Hat Manufacturer to the Royal Danish Court A. F. Bodecker, Frederiksberggade 2, Copenhagen”. Denmark, c. 1900. H. 13 cm. In original case. (2).
It is assumed that the above mentioned hat was used by one of the coachmen connected to the court of the Grand Duchess mother, Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna, when she stayed in Denmark.
Provenance: Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna of Russia, later her friend, Countess von Elzelingen, who belonged to the circle of Russian refugees in Copenhagen.
Minimal wear due to age.
