James Chater

A George II burr walnut bracket clock with chimes, brass dial with openwork gilded corner ornaments, silvered chapter ring, movement with calendar and repeat function, strikes every quater, ten bells and two tunes; Charles of Sweden and Charming Phillis. Dial and movement marked James Chater, London, member of the Clockmakers Company in the period 1726–1762. England, first half of the 18th century. H. 53 cm.
