Provenance: Michael and Anna Ancher's house in Skagen. Inventory number 374 old or given as a present by Anna Ancher or Helga Ancher at the latest in 1964. Art historian Elisabeth Fabritius, author of the Michael Ancher monograph, has confirmed this.

Steen Drewsen accompanied the Norwegian singer Bokken Lasson on a tour to USA with Holger Drachmann. Bokken was the sister of Holger Drachmann's third wife Soffy.
