Russian military porcelain plate, decorated in colours, centre with a soldier from the Cherkess Squadron, gilt border with ciselé Imperial eagles, military attributes, helmets over crossed swords, trumpets and foliage, gilt rim. The Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg. Marked on base in Cyrillic blue H I for Tsar Nicholas I (1825–1855), signed N. Yakovlev (in Cyrillic), dated 1835 and numbered “X 2. 4.”, Cyrillic red owner's no. “N 6142 BX”. Diam. 23.5 cm.

Provenance: Acquired by Carl Johan Rasmussen, president of the Danish company Great Northern Telegraph Company in Moscow in the years before and after the Russian revolution.
