Russian sapphire and diamond brooch set with cabochon sapphires and several rose-cut diamonds, mounted in 14k gold. Friedrich Koechli, assayer Jakov Liapunov in St. Petersburg 1896–1903, 56 standard. H. 1.5. L. 4 cm. In original case. (2).

Provenance: The Danish-born Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna of Russia often visited her native country. Here, around 1900, she also visited the Lutheran Chapter of Vallø for unmarried noble ladies, where the Tsaritsa gave the brooch to one of the ladies. This lady later gave the brooch to a member of the present owner's family.
