Faber Type (Pavel Buhre) - a Russian 14k (583) hunter case and pin-set pocket watch, front case engraved and decorated with the imperial eagle in blue and black enamel, white dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, dust cover of gold signed Faber Type (Pavel Buhre) serial no. 79553. Provenance: Given as a gift from Empress Maria Feodorovna to the current owner's great-grandfather, engineer Carl Frederik Sponholtz, who sailed the Empress from Rostock to Denmark on the ship H. P. Masnedö in 1904. As acknowledgement the captains and first engineers received a gold watch, 2nd mates and 2nd engineers received a silver pocket watch and the rest of the crew received a silver tie pin.
The watch works but we do not guarantee for the functionality. Wear due to age and use. Case interior with lightly faded print.
