Lèonard Bordier open face pocket watch with verge movement in gold and gold plated cases, stem, bow and case decorated with enamel and seed pearls, the reverse with Artemis and dog, white dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions with Arabic quarters and key wind, signed Lèonard Bordier, movement likewise signed Leonard Bordier, n. 2933, stem stamped on each side SD and 2933. With chatelaine of plaited hair and with key. C. 1800. Total weight 102 gr. Diam. 58/60 mm.

Leornard Bordier, Geneva, 1750–1810, specialised in “montres de fantaisie” and decorative watches. The cases were small art gems adorned with pearls and enamel decorated motifs. The present watch is a fine example of his work.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Key is enclosed. The watch is defect, chain broken, a hand with damaged point. Reverse enamel with damaged corner.
