A Louis XVI gilt bronze mounted mahogany 'table à bouillotte', circular white marble top with pierced gallery, above a panelled frieze with drawer, round, fluted and tapering legs, brass caps and castors. Stamped A. Gosslin and JME, Jurande des Menuisiers Ébéniste. France, c. 1785. H. 70 cm. Diam. 62.5 cm cm.
Literature: Pierre Kjellberg, 'Le Mobilier Francais du XVIIIe Siècle', discussed p. 363. Both father Antoine, master in Paris in 1752, and son Adrien Antoine Gosselin, master in Paris in 1772, used the same stamp 'A. Gosselin', making it hard to determine which of the two produced this table.
