Kaare Klint (b. Frederiksberg 1888, d. Copenhagen 1954)
Extremely rare and early freestanding three seater sofa mounted on eight-legged Cuban mahogany frame with brass shoes. Sides and loose cushions in seat and back upholstered with patinated Niger leather, fitted with buttons. Back and sides fitted with brass nails. Made and designed 1928 by cabinetmaker C. B. Hansen, Copenhagen. L. 184 cm.
Provenance: Only two sofas were made especially for the Merchant's Society's chairman room at the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
