Hermann Wilhelm Bissen (b. Schleswig 1798, d. Copenhagen 1868)

Two plaster busts depicting Signe and Rudolph Puggaard. 19th century. He dated 6. April 1855. She dated 21. Marz 53. H. 63 and 65 cm. (2).

Marble busts dated 1857 by Bissen at the Glyptotek (Rudolph) and Statens Museum for Kunst( the Danish National Gallery) (Signe).

Literature: Mentioned Haavard Rostrup, H. W. Bissen", vol. II 1945 no. 402 and 431.

Provenance: Both belonged to the Danish National Gallery but was sold to Vilh. Bissen in 1871. The Hartmann family, Fuglsang, Lolland.
