Elizaveta Petrovna was born in 1709 as a daugther of Peter the Great. Although she took the country into the War of Austrian Succession (1740–1748) and the Seven Years' War (1756–1763), she was one of the best loved of Russian monarchs, and at her death the Russian empire spanned almost 4 billion acres
