Kaare Klint (b. Frederiksberg 1888, d. Copenhagen 1954)
Easy chair with frame of Cuban mahogany. Sides, back and loose seat cushion upholstered with original patinated Niger leather. Model 5313. Very early example made circa 1936 by Rud. Rasmussen Cabinetmakers, Copenhagen.
Provenance: Agnes Dessau Kiær og Dr. Sven Kiær. Acquired as furnishing for their newly constructed villa on Scherfigsvej 7 in 1936. Hence by descent in the family.
Agnes Dessau Kiær was the daughter of the highly important Danish Industrialist, Art collector and chairman of the board of the Danish Museum of Decorative arts in the 1930s, Benny Dessau.
