Michael Ancher has portrayed his wife sitting in candlelight at the piano. The painting is a variant of “Spillende Dame” (Playing Lady), Anna Ancher at the piano in the living room in Ancher's House from 1887, at Statens Museum for Kunst (The National Gallery of Denmark).
