A near pair of Chinese gilt bronze crowned Guanyin seated in vajrasana mudra with kalash and sutra on separated raised lotus thrones. 20th century. H. 31/32 cm. Weight of figures 1529 gr and 1290 gr. (with scroll) + lotus 1394 gr. og 1409 gr. + base 459 gr. and 477 gr. (2)

Provenance: Marie Antoinette Bille Brahe Selby (1899–1985), Steensgaard Manor. Marie Antoinette was the first certified female shipsengineer in Denmark and was employed at M/S Selandia. According to information it was on one of these journeys to the Far East that she bought the Guanyins.

Condition

Normal scratches and marks due to age, as seen on pictures on website. Small hole on one lotus throne One with broken right hand One with chipped hair tresses One lotus throne with crack, but this is most likely from the casting
