“Vintermorgen. Skagens Sønderstrand”. Winter morning at Sønderstrand, Skagen. Signed and dated Carl Locher 1911. On the reverse of the frame King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark's burned owner's stamp with crowned monogram. Furthermore on the reverse of the frame a label marked inventory no. “Klitgaarden 7”. Oil on canvas. 40×56 cm.

“Klitgaarden” was King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark's summer residence near Skagen.

Exhibition: Charlottenborg 1911 no. 294.

Provenance: Descendant of King Frederik VIII of Denmark (1843–1912) until today.

Condition

Minor crackles. In need of a light surface cleaning.
