An iron mounted properly Italian rapier c. 1610–40 with a flat pear shaped fluted pommel and S-formed quillion, two large ring-guards and between them two fluted shells. The double edged blade is c. 102 cm. long with an octagonal cross section by the handle and a hexagonal cross section towards the point. The ricasso is on both sides marked ISEPO GINAM in an oval surrounding a sword smiths mark. wooden scabbard is covered in thin black leather and has an iron chape.

Condition

The iron spotted. The scabbard is cracked on the front.
