A fine caucasian 19th century silver mounted kindjal dated 1851 on the upper scabbard mount. The hilt in niello inlaid silver, the double edged etched blade is c. 38,5 cm long with two fullers on each side. The wooden scabbard is covered in faded red velvet and the front of the mounts are decorated in niello. The silver is marked 84, B3? and a faint town mark. The upper mount has a niello inlaid inscription on the back saying Who would ask you / Uman Stridti / 1851 / Crimean Sultan Dudarov.
