850/313

A fine Georgian? 19th century Kindjal with hilt and scabbard in silver decorated iron. The hilt with small doomed rivets is thickly inlaid with silver in floral design as is the scabbard. The blade tapers to a fine point and is c. 35 cm long with a deep off-set fuller on each side. On one side, an engraved makers mark. The wooden scabbard is entirely covered on the front by the large iron mount with a gold decorated bone piece in the middle. The back is open and here the tooled leather can be seen. The small knife is missing.
