Alvar Aalto (b. Kuortane 1898, d. Helsinki 1976)

Armchair with frame of moulded birch. Seat and back upholstered with light striped fabric. Model 34/402. Designed 1933. Manufactured 1930s by Oy Huonekalu-ja Rakennustyötehdas A.B for Artek, Finland.

Provenance: Professor Erik Lindahl, Uppsala, Sweden. Bought 1930's.

Condition

Wear of use, including scratches, marks and minor chips. Upholstery with stains and dirt. One joint between seat and leg with minor crakles in wood and glue residue in joint.
