A set of three Danish Louis XVI beech and giltwood armchairs, after design by G.E. Rosenberg. One marked with label from Sofiendal Castle, Skanderborg. Late 18th century. (3)

These chairs are designed by the Danish architect and cabinetmaker G.E. Rosenberg. Who was director of the “The Danish furniture magazine” established in 1770 in Copenhagen. Literature: Tove Clemmesen, Møbler af N.H. Jardin, C.F. Harsdorff og J.C. Lillie. Similar armchair designed by G.E. Rosenberg for the manor house Holsteinborg in 1778.
