An English mahogany bracket clock with gilt brass dial and openwork ornaments, chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals. The centre signed Camerer & Co. Bloomsbury. First half of the 19th century. H. 42 cm. W. 31 cm. D. 20 cm.

The Anglo-German clockmaking firm Camerer Cuss. The partnership was founded in Bloomsbury by two German immigrants in 1788. In 1867 the firm opened a retail outlet and workshop in New Oxford Street.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. No guarantee of the function of the clock work. Pendulum is enclosed. Winding key and key is not enclosed.
