The National Gallery of Denmark has two busts depicting Johannes Ewald, one of gilded plaster from 1781 (inv. no. KMS 8659) and the other one from 1784 (posthumous), deposited from Valkendorf's College. The present bust is carried out after the last version.

Provenance: The author and art collector Leif Hasle.

Minimal chips. Good condition.
